More Than a Classroom
Why We Started the Program
Caring for a child today also means preparing him for the responsibilities and opportunities of tomorrow.
Helping Hands provides a loving home, education, spiritual guidance, and daily care. But as our boys grow older, they also need practical skills that will help them build stable, independent lives beyond the orphanage.
The Student Entrepreneurship Program was created to give them meaningful, hands-on experience inside a real online business. Rather than only studying ideas in a classroom, students learn by creating artwork, choosing products, writing listings, taking photographs, promoting their collections, and seeing how their decisions affect results.
They are not simply watching adults operate the store. Our students actively help create, source, and list the products offered through Helping Hands.

Students begin by learning how an online store works and how products move from an idea to a real customer. Lessons combine technology, creativity, communication, and personal responsibility.

Students develop original artwork and product ideas based on their interests, experiences, culture, and faith. They learn to make creative choices while considering what customers may enjoy.

Bring the product to the marketplace
Once a product is ready, students help prepare it for the online store. They learn how photographs, pricing, descriptions, organization, and promotion work together to create a professional listing.

Half of every profit helps support the daily operation of Helping Hands, including the home, education, food, transportation, utilities, staff, and the many practical needs involved in caring for the boys.
Builds Savings for the Future
Preparing each creator for life beyond the orphanage
Forty percent is reserved for the student creator’s education and future. These savings can help provide greater stability as he prepares for university, vocational training, housing, transportation, or the launch of a future business.
Goes to the Young Entrepreneur
Rewarding effort, creativity, and responsibility
Ten percent is given directly to the student whose work helped create the sale. This allows him to experience the connection between effort, value, responsibility, and income while learning to manage money wisely.
