Helping Hands Orphanage was founded with the belief that every child deserves more than a safe place to live. Each young person deserves the opportunity to grow in faith, receive a good education, develop practical skills, and prepare for a meaningful future.
The young men pictured here represent some of the many boys who have graduated from high school during the years of Helping Hands’ ministry. Some of these graduations are recent. Others remind us of the lasting work that has taken place over many years.
Every graduate has a different story, but each one represents perseverance, encouragement, sacrifice, and hope.
Education Opens Doors
Education has always been one of the foundations of Helping Hands.
Every boy living at the orphanage attends school. As they grow older, we encourage them to continue their education through a university, technical school, vocational program, or another path that prepares them for responsible adulthood.
Our goal is not simply for students to complete their schoolwork. We want them to gain the knowledge, confidence, discipline, and practical ability needed to support themselves, strengthen their families, and contribute to their communities.
For young people with limited opportunities, education can open doors that might otherwise remain closed.
Preparing for Life Beyond the Orphanage
Graduation is an important achievement, but it is not the end of the journey.
As our boys grow into young men, they must prepare for employment, financial responsibility, family life, leadership, and the everyday decisions of adulthood. Helping Hands seeks to provide the stability, encouragement, and guidance they need as they take those steps.
Our Student Entrepreneurship Program is now adding another part to that preparation. Students are learning practical skills such as product development, graphic design, photography, online selling, marketing, customer service, and financial responsibility.
These skills cannot guarantee what the future will hold, but they can give young people greater confidence and more ways to recognize and pursue opportunity.
Faith Transforms Hearts
Our mission extends far beyond academics and career preparation.
Helping Hands was founded by Pastor Pedro and other caring people who loved God and loved children. From the beginning, the ministry has sought to share the love of Jesus Christ with every child who enters its doors.
The boys are taught God’s Word, encouraged to develop Christian character, and challenged to become faithful followers of Christ.
Our greatest hope is not simply that these young men will find successful careers. We pray that they will become godly husbands, fathers, leaders, and servants who reflect Christ in the way they live.
We want them to understand the joy of following Jesus, the assurance of eternal life, and the responsibility of sharing that hope with others.
Celebrating the Past and Looking Ahead
When we look at these graduates, we celebrate more than diplomas.
We celebrate years of school attendance, homework, encouragement, correction, prayer, and perseverance. We remember the staff members, teachers, churches, donors, mission teams, and friends whose faithful support helped make each achievement possible.
We also look ahead to the younger boys who are following in their footsteps.
Their stories are still being written.
With God’s help—and with the continued support of friends who believe in this ministry—we look forward to celebrating many more graduations in the years ahead.
