Sometimes life gets heavy, and you don’t have to carry everything alone.
Maybe you’re worried about your family. Maybe you’re facing a health problem, struggling financially, grieving someone you love, or simply going through a season when you don’t know what to do next.
Whatever brought you here, it’s okay to ask someone to pray for you.
In fact, the Bible encourages Christians to pray for one another.
James 5:16 tells us to “pray for one another.” Prayer was never intended to be something we only do alone. God calls His people to care for one another, encourage one another, and bring each other’s needs before Him.
How Do I Ask Someone to Pray for Me?
It can be as simple as saying:
“Would you pray for me?”
You don’t need to know the right religious words. You don’t need to explain everything that’s happening. And you certainly don’t need to have your life figured out before asking for prayer.
You can simply share what’s on your heart.
You might say:
- “Please pray for my family.”
- “I’m going through a difficult time and need God’s direction.”
- “Someone I love is sick. Would you pray for them?”
- “I’m worried about my finances.”
- “I’m struggling with a decision and need wisdom.”
- “I don’t really know what I need. I just need prayer.”
God already knows the circumstances. Asking someone else to pray is simply inviting another believer to join you in bringing those circumstances before Him.
Does the Bible Really Tell Us to Pray for Other People?
Yes. Throughout the Bible, God’s people are encouraged to pray not only for themselves but for others.
James 5:16 tells Christians to pray for one another. First Timothy 2:1 encourages believers to offer prayers and intercession for others.
Prayer for one another is part of living in Christian community. When someone tells us about a burden they are carrying, one of the most meaningful things we can do is bring that person and their situation before God.
What If I Don’t Know Exactly What to Pray For?
That’s okay too.
Sometimes we know exactly what we want God to do.
Other times, all we know is that something hurts.
You may be confused, frightened, disappointed, angry, lonely, or uncertain about what comes next.
You can still pray.
You can simply tell God what’s happening and ask Him for wisdom, strength, comfort, direction, and peace.
Prayer isn’t about saying everything perfectly. It’s about coming honestly before God.
Can I Ask for Prayer Even If I Don’t Attend Church?
Absolutely.
You don’t have to belong to a particular church to ask us to pray for you.
Maybe you’ve followed Jesus for many years. Maybe you’ve been away from church for a long time. Maybe you’re just beginning to wonder about God.
You are still welcome to ask for prayer.
At Helping Hands Orphanage, we believe prayer matters. We meet every weekday at 8:30 to learn the Bible and Pray. We’d be honored to pray for you. Even though the kids are young, God hears the prayers of all his followers.

Share as much or as little as you feel comfortable sharing.
You can tell us your name and what you would like us to pray about. Your prayer doesn’t have to be long. Even a sentence is enough.
What Happens After I Submit My Prayer Request?
Your request isn’t just another website form.
We believe there is value in Christians praying for one another, and we want prayer to be a genuine part of the Helping Hands ministry.
We can’t promise that God will answer every prayer in exactly the way we hope or expect. But we can bring our needs before Him, trust His wisdom, and know that He hears us.
You Can Pray Right Now, Too
You don’t have to wait for someone else before talking to God.
If you’re not sure what to say, you could begin with something as simple as:
God, You know what I’m going through. I need Your help. Please give me wisdom about what to do, strength for what I’m facing, and peace as I trust You. Help me to know You better and to follow You. Amen.
The words themselves aren’t magical. Speak honestly to God about what’s on your heart.

We work to provide a loving Christian family environment, education, mentoring, and opportunities that help young people prepare for adulthood.
